just looking
Hey guys we are a start-up and are trying to create a better toilet for motor home/ caravan owners. We believe that you deserve something better; for too long toilets have stayed the same and we want to offer motor home/caravan owners a better user experience that compares to being at home.

In order to make a toilet you love we need to understand your problems better, if you are free for a call, please like this post and we will message you to get something sorted.

Everything in our motorhome has to be duel purpose. 😁 Bob.

I'm on a canal forum or two - had someone come on to on eof them trying to sell us a better way to pick up our mooring buoys .... seemed surprised to find out that banging a stick into the bank was still fine, thanks all the same.

Wouldn't you get coffee grounds going into the loo!!???
I think it has a filter as well, personally I don’t know why they are bothering as you don’t use that much water flushing.

Gone....never to been heard from again.
No way to attempt a start up if you can't communicate with those you are asking help from
Not exactly the best way to gain confidence from the future buyers of the potential product . Any business that isn’t prepared to spend £15 on a membership, to gain valuable customer insight, is not a business I would deal with . It instills no confidence.

What about mulching it then slowly feeding it into the exhaust manifold for incineration?
Some coaches did this in the 1980's burnt it out of the exhaust and it was banned. You did not want to get stuck behind one on your bike!

Every campsite pitch needs its own exclusive toilet and shower block. With underfloor heating, and a reading light (bloke requirement).

Sorted.

You are going to be busy. There's little wrong with the existing cassette toilets. Cheap reliable and compact. Smells from it is the major issue but that's down to the contents.
The main cause of the smell is not because of the contents but because the liquids and solids are mixed.

My main point is, why does the toilet use fresh water to flush and not the grey water thats collected
Why use water and chemicals at all? It’s just a mindset.

Hi - why not join as a paid subscription member then you can ask unlimited questions to the many thousands of motorhomers on here to help develop your proposed product (y) It's good that you are asking owners as many manufacturers don't consult users - crazy but true. Know that some on here have composting toilets & incinerator toilets as well as the standard Thetford & Dometic offerings. There has been some discussion about ones that separate liquid & solids but not seen any positive comments about anyone wanting one of those - is that what you are considering?
I'll start it off - having a porcelain lined Dometic toilet we are pretty happy with it apart from the height in comparison with the toilet floor so we have a foam step :giggle: Had lower toilets in the past but that meant smaller toilet tanks so always a compromise. Wouldn't want one like at home - lots of water inside a motorhome for that purpose is not desirable! Don't think toilets should be loveable just practical, durable & easy to keep clean, ideally with good capacity & designed to minimise odours.
Hi, What made you opt for the porcelain lining & does it achieve whatever made you add it, do you recommend & why, please.

I am honestly fascinated in what "YOU" think you could do better. At the moment we can buy plastic toilets, Ceramic toilets and stainless steel ones. All with a choice of easy empty cassette or holding tank with macerator. A toilet in a house has a cistern for flushing, dropping up to a gallon of water into the bowl to flush. This can not work in a motorhome due to the logistics of water, both flush and waste.

The cheapest option, which is mass produced and fitted by nearly all converters is plastic for good reason......the weight

composting toilets do work in the right conditions, as do incinerator toilets. But not in most caravans or motorhomes

It was the European ones no British made ones, the D o T was doing intercepts and putting prohibitions on them, The waste from the on board toilets was diverted to a point on the exhaust near the exhaust manifold, and *injected* at high pressure as a mist which was in theory vaporised, needless to say in towns and slower roads it did not quite work, it was late 70's to early 80's They tended to be the old east European makes Tatra, Iveco, Skoda etc

I dont think the OP is ever coming back on here.
But whilst we are talking toilets again, can you remember seeing this sign?, and did you ever spot the result of a non conformist on any railway station track? I even as a kid could not believe that this was how toilets on trains worked, I hope the new ones have tanks nowadays.
Can you imagine how much effluent was passed onto the tracks with football fans coming home after a match.
