We’re on the brink of buying a 2020 Bailey 66-2 motorhome. Any advice to help us make the final decision please?

Check the payload, some Bailey models had awful payload. So much so, you couldn’t put anything in but people.

Also, take a damp meter, both our new Bailey caravans leaked from the moment we got them.

You do get a lot of Motorhome for the money though. 👍

Does it have the Fiat Comfortmatic gear box ?

there are several threads about issues with them.. while others say they are great.. problem seems to be if it goes wrong it's lots of money ..

Dampness has also been reported with both Bailey caravans and motorhomes..
if you go ahead.. use a damp meter, especially around the body panel joints, floor/wall, roof/wall and corner joints

Warranty.. make sure it's parts and labour, and includes all habitation appliances, water ingress and the base vehicle...

Personally I wouldn't , nor have have any other British coachbuilt van..

Don’t know your particular model of Bailey but we’ve owned our 2012 Bailey Approach since 2015 and are very happy with it. Great value and much to our surprise, it seems to have appreciated in value (at least according to the insurers). We’re currently enjoying a trip in France. A
Good luck with whatever you buy.

We have a 66-2 -> we got it with a quite limited warranty, but checked it throughly with a damp meter. Thats best thing to do check everything and it's difficult with a 66-2 in particular.

We're very happy with our purchase, upgraded a few things. Previous owner updated a lot, we keep finding things he's imporved (we have a heated towel rail with ours).

Load isn't an issue with the 66-2 -> we with all our stuff, a full weekend load, 100% fuel, 30% water, 2 6Kg full propane we still have 300kg of spare payload. A couple next to us on site with similar yesterday with the air suspension and a rooftop trumper ac, all in weight.
