Is there such a thing as a food građe watering can..
I personally do not see the need for food građe anything to fill tank if that is all you using it for.. normal garden hose and watering cans does us... still here after 40+ yrs of filling fresh water tanks on both caravans and mohos.👍👍

I wanted the biggest one I could find for mine. Got this 14L one off Amazon and it has been perfect. 4 Extra Litres makes a difference.

10 litre standard water can with long spout found in most DIY shops or Garden Centre. The water will never be in them long enough to worry about food grade.

I use two so can pick up 20 litres in one visit to the tap.

We use these.. not much bigger footprint than a watering can and they have the added advantage you can carry extra H2O if required.

Very difficult to pour into the water filling hole without spillage, even with funnel. The watering can has a long spout that goes into the hole and empties quickly.

The possible difficulty of getting water into my tank with these container... which incidently i have never experienced, very easy to empty container into tank with no drips or drops is easily overcome by the fact that, if required i can carry an extra 20 ltrs H2O.. You cannot !!

Colapze Watering Can. Not cheap but squishes down thus ideal for those with limited storage. Use a small bit of hose to extend the spout increases carrying capacity and eases pouring into tank. Maybe able to get cheaper than link below.

I have this following a recent total loss of water due to a failed drainage pipe - I managed to fix the pipe, following which I bought a load of bottled water to replenish ( I wasn’t on a site or near a supply) and had to cut up one of the bottles to make a pouring tube for my PVC - not ideal, hence purchasing this.

The fresh water inlet on our van extends horizontally for 10-12cm - making pouring from bottles very challenging as half of it just runs down the side of the van instead of along the inlet and into the tank… The end tubes on this fit perfectly into the inlet, which fixed my issue instantly.

It’s pricey, but is now in regular service for me using supply hoses, pouring from a Jerry can or I also now have a collapsible watering can which worked with this just yesterday…

Fully agree , we usually carry a Honda scooter on the back , so unless travelling to a location with known facilities , will quite often keep reserve water up front to evenly distribute the weight as our main freshwater tank is also right at the back. Never had a problem with spillage. Maybe some vans have a high external filling point though...

If I had to worry about filling with a watering can I'd book a fully serviced pitch instead
My pvc only holds 60l. Quicker and easier to do a couple of trips a day with watering can to top off rather than a faff to drive round to tap, unravel and connect hose, then empty dregs from hose and reroll before returning to pitch.

And far too much of a skinflint for full service pitch, I don't usually want to even pay for ehu. ;)

Collapse bucket and part of a downspout. Fits most vans I believe. Faster than a watering can and takes up about as much space as the colpaz. Have you had a search?

Here’s one search results

I've got a slimline 5L plastic watering can. 2 trips to the tap a day keeps me fit. If it's a long walk I take a 5L water bottle too. We don't shower in the van so the 90L tank lasts over a week anyway

This is the best design.
Available here amongst other places for about £15
  • It folds flat
  • The spout retracts
  • It has a screw top so it can be used as a jerry can
  • Capacity is 6 liters
(4 trips will give you a quarter tank full, enough to heat the water for a shower)

The sides are transparent, this means in a dodgy (now closed) campsite in Kent you can see the quality of the water, which you then dump and leave the site for somewhere else!

We use a Collapz watering can. We did use an ordinary one from b and q or wherever which we kept just for the van but it took up too much room.

I have 2 x 10 litre plastic jerry cans.
I also have a Paul&Chrissy 3D printed funnel.
Works a treat and gives me the option of carrying 20 litres of water seperate to my main fresh water tank if I want to.
