Starquest Autocruise
Hi, I have just bought a 2002 Starquest Autocruise which is great. I have been though all the systems and it all works except the water pump keeps running when powered. There are no leaks or airlocks I can find so next I want to check the inline pressure switch is set up correctly but don’t know where it is located. Does anyone know where I might find it? Thanks

Sounds like you have microswitched taps and one microswitch has failed/stuck closed.
If it is microswitched you will see a pair of wires coming from the bottom of each of the taps.
If it should happen to be pressure operated the switch is usually part of the pump at the opposite end to the water ports.
It's just a screw in the end of the pump

Hi.. thanks for that but the handbook definitely says “inline pressure switch“ .. but doesn’t tell me where to find it sadly

Another option is if the van has an auto dump van next to the boiler.
Once the temp drops to around 4°c the valve opens and dumps the water.
Look under the van for water flowing from a short hose below the boiler.

what pump do you have, is it a Shurflo or one in the tank?

Thanks for your ideas and suggestions. I have just had another good look in the locker and found the inline pressure switch mounted high on the inside. It is an adjustable switch and once I had unscrewed the adjuster quite some way, the pump stopped running! Halleluja! I can now turn on the tap and the pump runs. When the tap is shut off, the pump stop! Yes, I am concerned about that pump impeller although I know the onboard tank is full so it probably hasn’t been run dry …much!
