Hello

It's my first motorhome - we've had it out of storage once, so I'm very new to this. I've worked out most things but the truma waterheater seems to be a bit of a mystery.

Basically, I've followed the instructions and we have water flowing when the (mixer) taps are set to hot, but there's no heat coming through. The water pump seems to work ok, The waterheater lamp is on orange, but when we turn the tap on it turns red - which indicates a fault or something.

My questions are:

Should I be waiting a while for the heater to heat the water?

There's a red inline valve by the heater that clearly is a hot water supply, but ther's no indication which way is on and which off.

Is there something double obvious I'm missing, or is it knackered and I need to go back to dealer for warranty repair?

The inline valve should be just that... Inline.... Lever Inline with body for on.

You will need to wait maybe 20 minutes for the water to heat up but the red light is concerning.
Try waiting or check the boiler flu outside for hot exhaust air.... No hot air, boiler no working.

Are you trying it on gas or EHU? You could have a problem with the gas supply if I try to use mine it shows an amber if I've not turned the gas on PS maybe the dealer drained the heater and bypassed it over the winter

ours shows green and amber till its reached temp then just green red is flame failure it maybe theres a gas tap turned off have you checked for a gas manifold? again the tap has to be inline with the pipe its isolating.Does everything else work on gas?often if its been of it will take a few trys to purge the gas through

Wow. A few things to think about there! The good news is we are taking it away for a few days this week so I'll be able to get a good look at it.

It's gas powered - There's a click coming from the body of the unit when we turn it on. I'm not sure about the bypass - I'll check the user manual when I'm back with the van.

There may be a cover on the outside gas flue from the boiler ... if so this has to be removed or the boiler will not work on gas.

Yes... we *may* have forgotten to take this off when we first fired it up so it may have locked out to prevent damage - this is something that is mentioned in the manual for the heater.

Everything works on the gas no problems - we had to wait for it to find its way through the system at first, but apart from the heater, everything's fine.
