I’m a newbie
Taking my campervan from Liverpool to Belfast early July. Have 3 weeks to tour Ireland. Already visited the sights north of Belfast like Giants Causeway, Royal Port Rush on a previous fly in visit. I will be heading west on this ocassion, are there any must do/don'ts to recommend? I'm a golfer. I will ferry back from Dublin area to Cherbourg though nothing booked yet.

We are currently into the 3rd week of our trip, we haven’t got as far as we thought as the weather has been lovely and so we have stayed longer in some spots.

My advice would be don’t be over ambitious on daily mileage as the roads are slow.

There are quite a lot of Irish motorhomes out at the weekend and so you may need to book ahead for a Fri/Sat night to avoid disappointment if you are heading somewhere popular.

Pubs and motorhome stop overs have been very helpful , often emailing them gets a very quick response. We have picked up loads of ideas on where to stay from others on our route.

Be prepared for struggling to dispose of your rubbish, it’s a funny thing but there aren’t many bins around ! Weirdly some motorhome stop overs charge you for your rubbish .

Enjoy your travels , we certainly have had a great time .

As ex-Galway I suggest you visit Galway. During the week it's a dream to visit, at weekends it's exciting (in a good way). The food and people are second to none.
