Hi all,
I have just cancelled my sky account and moved to virgin. I used my ps4 with sky go app to watch my beloved football and rugby league whilst staying in my motorhome. I have a smart tv in the motorhome, can I somehow watch virgin go tv on my smart tv. I know I can watch on my laptop or iPad but I want to watch on tv if I can. I also have a firestck.
Thanks in advance
Anthony

I have also struggled with this, the only solution I’ve found is to hard HDMI cable from my Apple laptop to the tv, but even that is a bit flaky. I have given up and just watch on my Ipad. No luck with a firestick. Hopefully someone will have a solution?

Hi, yeah I know what your saying. I didn't think about it when moving to Virgin but there deal they gave me is £40 month cheaper than sky even though I've been with sky for over 20 yrs. Laptop and hdmi cable I'm thinking. Thanks for your reply 👍

Hi, yeah I ordered Virgin yesterday but didn't realise I couldn't get virgin go tv app for ps4 or smart tv. Looks like I be cancelling Virgin and staying with sky.
Thanks for replying and enjoy Christmas in Spain 👍

We were able to watch the footie on the iPad with Virgin Go, but not on the TV.

I think I managed it with the Apple adaptor and HDMI cable, but it kept buffering and was unwatchable.

Yeah the advantage of sky go I suppose. Think Im going to have to reconsider having Virgin installed.

We recently moved to BT as like others got fed up with being ripped off by Sky. I've not tried my box in the van yet but I can use BT TV, Now TV and the rest I need on my firestick so can still watch sport which is the main reason I've got BT. New van has a smart TV (Alphatronics) so hoping I can download the BT apps to that if its android.

Saved £60 a month getting away from Sky and now have all the Sky sports channels plus TNT sport and Discovery plus so very pleased.

Sky have lost shed loads of customers recently as their retentions dept seem none existent nowadays. I moved to Virgin around 4 months ago. Been very pleased with the service and price. Watching in the MH is an ongoing problem I am trying to solve.

Don't forget to renegotiate your deal with Virgin at the end of your contract as it jumps up.
Also, if you have a pay monthly O2 phone the data doubles FOC if you have Virgin. Also 25GB of data is included when in EU per month.
I don't work for any of the companies, just like a good deal.

Yes, I actually put a reminder in my phone to renegotiate my deal when I was with Sky. Will be Interesting to see what Virgin do to keep its new customers (this is my first year with them). My O2/Virgin deal was £85 per month (full package & sim). Sky was £140 and no sim, slower broadband etc, crazy price 🤷‍♂️

Hi, thank you for your reply.
Sky has been useless, upgraded few months ago to ultra fast fibre and every time we was away in motorhome the Internet went off so I couldn't check cctv outside and inside house. When came home had to reset it all. Even with tnt sports and 02 sim still saving £40 per month

Thanks, yes I have got phone sim with Virgin, tnt sports and still saved £40 month but will have to use iPad and hdmi lead plugged into tv in motorhome I think

I think you might have to link to a MacBook, I could not link satisfactorily from an Ipad. Much better from the laptop but not perfect. But give it a try, good luck.

iPad to HDMi doesn’t work very well. I gave up as none of the streaming apps would run on a TV. They’re so smart these days they can just block these things!

I’m still with Sky (just) and have been able through SkyGo and a UK sim been able to watch stuff on my iPad, but why they block casting onto a bigger screen or even providing a Firestick app is beyond me. After all we’ve paid our dues and surely they could allow us to still watch when overseas.

Yep I agree, I guess they don't want anyone in a pub to cast it. Was overjoyed when I got BT and could use firestick and get it on a smart TV.
