Taken the plunge and decided to book two weeks here end of Jan, beginning of Feb. Paid the deposit with CAMC club - still time to back out and get a refund if reviews on here are unfavourable. :giggle:

Very unlike us to book somewhere static for two weeks, normally we are travelling here and there staying one to three nights depending on what we find But thought we would give this a whirl and see what it’s like. We don’t even normally stay on campsites!

Will take a couple of weeks to travel down and one or two weeks to travel back and hopefully miss some bad weather.

One question I couldn’t see an answer was whether we could take the dogs on the bus into town - anyone know the answer? Also it says dog walks available - is there anywhere they can have a good run off the lead as well?

Thanks

We are there late Feb to Early March. No dog so don’t know the answer but hope all is good for you.

They don't normally allow dogs on buses in Spain.

Only can take a dog if you can pick it up to carry it on the bus, we saw an Ikea bag with the corners cut out and a dog leg stuck out of each corner trying to get on the bus and the driver saying No way Jose! . There is a bus stop right outside but town is a long way down hill, okay going, murder coming back with a load and watch out for Scandi Happy hour, around 4pm the Scandinavians start to gather and descend on mass and the viking genes take over! Lots of good natured drinking and they all speak English! Small supermarket on site though. Never found a decent dog walk off the lead but loads of lanes to explore and there is/was a dog sanctuary at the back of the permanent pitches( where most of the Spanish caravaners are) Oh and there are loads of red squirrels on the site, they will run over the van roof at a moments notice!

We have stayed on the site a few times, 1st time was with the Camping and Caravan Club Rally, the pitches they was allocated was very shaded, and being that far north in winter you need sunshine 🌞, after that we went using ACSI card and choose pitches at the top of the site, our dog loves it there as they had a lot of 🐈 to chase, but not been since 2013. 😀 Bob.

The answer to the dog has just become very unclear I suspect. New Spanish animal laws that came in last week, I think, may change all that. You can now take a dog into a supermarket and if you tied it up outside one you would be breaking the new law & could be fined. I think it also mentioned restaurants. I didn’t read the article so don’t know to what extent its impact will have.

We have stayed there a few times mainly for the restaurant. Club pitches and many others are shaded. Its out of town so bus access or taxi. The town's not that interesting IMO. There was an active timberyard just down the hill from the site, used to fire up around 7.30am, not sure if it's still operating, should check. Also think it's ok for a few nights but not 2 weeks, no sea view etc, however you may like it. Much prefer Playa Tropicana but that's a long walk into town also.
