Victron smart shunt 500 - Blutooth (2 Viewers)

Hello,
I've not been able to find out the answer to this definitively does the Victron smart shunt 500 - Bluetooth require an internet connection? Renogy bizarrely do require an internet connection in order to use their app. to monitor you battery.

Nope not internet connection required unless you use VRM to remote the Victron stuff. As in when you are not in or anywhere near your van....

It will require an internet connection for firmware updates on initial installation and occasional updates these will appear on your phone or tablet in the app providing you have a connection once it's on your device it updates the shunt over Bluetooth.

Hey everyone, thank you very much for all your help and the wider community on all my other posts, victron smart shunt installed etc. just blows my mind why Renogy would force a web account login in order to use their monitoring tools. I will replace my wifes renogy shunt with a victron unit for sure.
