Victron dc dc 12v 18 Amp Isolated Negative Connection (1 Viewer)

Quick question that probably has a quick answer.

The installation diagram shows a negative cable going back to the starter battery.

Can I just connect to the chassis instead?

Think I've seen somewhere that the cable lengths need to be the same.
That may have been for the isolated version though.
YouTube has masses of tutorials for fitting these units.

Yes I think you just need a common earth that's what we have.

Victon's own support pages indicate that you can bridge both negative terminals and provide a common earth.

Thanks, that's good, and the guy has the same reasons too, wants the 18amp but only an isolated version is available.
