Are you not within fighting distance of lithium at that price? I appreciate there are likely to be other costs for lithium.

Anyone tried one of these? I'm temped as they seem pretty robust. Would welcome any thoughts especially from anyone who has bought one.

Never used one, but used similar yuasa deep cycle. They lasted about 2 years before they started to show reduced capacity, but still strong on charge / discharge rates. I replaced with Rolls Surrette, that lasted 7 years then sold them on with reasonable service life left.

The description of victron battery it has mistakes in the rates description, for that reason i doubt their claims. It could be deliberate so they can juggle a argument against a warranty claim, or it could be a mistake that no one picked on it to ask.
A 0.2C its not C/20. There needs to be a clear distinction what rate applies to what. If 0.2C its a max charge rate, then for simplicity and clarity don't mix it with C/20 as C/20 its 0.05C, totally diferent rate for discharging.
It also could read as capacity measured at C/20, and 0.2C (C/5), being the max charge/discharge rate.
From a reputable victron, this is a very sloppy poor data description.

Poor reliability, charging issues.

Ours Lasted about 18 months.

Went to Gel, Lasted 6-7 years so-far. Will probably choose Lithium next

I was just worried about the charging issues.

Thank you

and if you have lead acid, make sure your charger can be set to charge AGMS

AGM are fantastic in the right application. The use patern and needs, may differ from one to another. So in your case the gel characteristics suits your usage and equipment.
Also there are various agm constructions, for different applications. You could have a agm with 1C charge/discharge capability ( aviation), fast charge/ discharge rates, or you could have deep cycle agm with lesser charge/discharge rates, but more capable on deep cycle applications. Not all agm’s are built the same. Where a conventional battery can be used, it’s no point on spending for a agm. But if you need a winch or starting and no maintenance or spill, agm is unbeatable.
