Picking up a comment in a previous post about bangs and rattles and the benefits of different tyres and air suspension on ride quality; I noticed that one Funster talked about the improved ride quality when running their semi-air at 6 bar. I had my VB semi-air fitted by Rosmia in Sussex and they recommended not going above 3 bar as a maximum. Can anyone explain why some can be inflated to much higher pressures or is it possible I misheard the fitter? What are others experiences with VB semi?

We were told similar to yourself, we run normally at just below 3 bar, above 2.5. When approaching ferries or steep drives we up it to 4.

I don't think we ever been to 6 🤔

When I fitted semi Air albeit with a different make the instruction was to measure the ride height of the vehicle when fully unloaded from a certain point, I used the towbar then reload to your normal travelling weight with any water/bikes etc and then use the semi air to restore the original ride height, for us that's about 2.5 bar and works perfectly and makes sense to me.

I've got VB semi with compressor and gauges. The compressor won't put more in than 3.5 bar before it shuts off.
To get 6 bar in, yer man has bypassed the cutoff. Not advisable.
I've never put in more than 2.5 bar in mine. Normally it is at about 1.8bar, and the difference to stability is surprising

Forgot to mention. I maxxed it up to 3.5 bar and it raised up the blunt end of the bus by just under five inches, which is enough to stop my tow bar scraping on ferry ramps.
I understand that if you know the difference between a spanner and a hammer then it is self fit. I got it fitted. Supply and fit VB Semi Air Comfort was about £1100, two years ago, but you can get the kit for half that.
