Going through the option list before ordering a 4WD Merc based 6m PVC.

What is "VB Semi air suspension to rear axle"? Do I need it, what does it do?

On a Mec it firms up the soft ride (does the opposite on a Fiat) improves crosswind stability reduces corner roll and can allow the rear axle load to be increaded.

Have you checked that you can actually get it for a 4WD Merc?

I've got it on my 2wd Crafter. The standard shocks and springs remain in place, the bump stops are removed and replaced with air bags. The job of the air bags is to assist the standard suspension, not replace it.

My van is the 7.4m version up plated to 4.1t. The air lifts the back to give full suspension travel and it helps with body roll on corners.

I think the AWD chassis is already beefed up a bit & we wouldn't want it any taller off the ground. The option list is extremely expensive, so we may leave that one off. Nothing indicates that it's not available for the AWD, but the suppliers are awful salespeople so I have to cross check everything. You would think that a question "does have 2 fresh water tanks impact on your off grid battery installation" would be answered immediately for such a large amount of money, but no, 1 week so far. These people really need some competition!
