Van hire… UK or Europe for road trip (2 Viewers)

We have daughter and son in law with two children under 5 coming from Australia. They are planning briefly to be in UK then extensive motorhome trip to France/Germany/Italy. We will join in our van for part of the trip.

Question. Is it better to hire in UK and go to Europe or go to Europe and hire there?

Hire in europe. Dutch firms do great deals even some do sell/buyback

If nothing else, it will save on ferry costs.
