Lots but slow learner.
Hard to get a handle on what ones MH might be worth today.
Just spent time getting some idea what ours might be worth as we are considering TRYING to sell again.
The prices are all over the place.
One dealer is asking (never going to get) £86k for a new one of ours.
Other dealers are asking circa £60k to 68K for our model year..........still too much in my view.
So what i am going to do if we decide to sell again is find the cheapest a dealer is trying to sell a like for like van.
I know dealers have a mark up of £6 to £8k ish ish.
So i will advertise ours at £6 to £8k LOWER than what a dealer is trying to sell at.
If you want a bargain watch classifieds.
OBTW ours goes into the main Peugeot dealer on Tuesday for a full major £500 service.

There is no doubt that selling privately is difficult right now. In fact selling motorhomes at all seems tough for dealers.
In terms of value, the only way to sell yours is to ensure that whoever looks at it believes they are getting an absolute bargain. If not, why would they take the risk with a private sale?

As a private buyer, they have barely any rights or comeback and for many it will involve spending a huge amount if not all of their savings.

So really productive advertising is the key, make yours stand out, state that it's so much cheaper than a dealer and be honest as you can with the reasons for selling. Make it sound like you are the nicest guy around and can be trusted.

I don't think you are off the mark with a dealer value against yours, but remember, if someone sees a van in a dealer for say 70 they immediately (wrongly these days) think it's 65...

Also, the other issue is the PX punter. Many will have something to sell that they struggle to move on themselves.

Definitely tough times, I have two mates selling vans and have been trying for over 4 months.

Have you considered a broker? Some will let you place on their forecourt for a cut that is not to dissimilar from what the difference is you are asking. Plus they can offer finance and warranty too.

Good luck

It was with a broker down south for 2 months. They couldn't sell it.
Ours still has warranty left on it that could help the resale.
The price we would sell would be so much lower than a dealer that the savings could easily put right what might be/go wrong.
Our van is a good un mechanically.......BUT........ it's a Bailey so the quality of build is not the best.
I have offered our van to brokers to buy outright at a even lower reduced price so their mark up would be even more............they don't want to use their capital. Get stock for nowt (understandable).

Put it on the classifieds on here Bob, at least people will know that you’ve looked after it and it’s a good van coming from a good home, I’ve bought two vans from funsters so I could do a little research on them and get to know about the van a bit more about the history of it Before I went to see it, it helps to sort of knowing the owner and van when handing over thousands of pounds…

Good luck..👍🏼😎

I probably will if we decide to try again.
We are away in it for a few days, leaving in a couple of hours.
