IMPORTANT
Due to unforeseen circumstances, and problems with local council planning dept
The advertised hard standing will probably not be available,

Alternative arrangements are in place to house us on the normal camping area, closer to the club house.

This will mean that motor homes will be on a firm well drained grassed area possibly having to place the bigger American RVs on tarmac or gravelled areas.
there is also a possibility that hook ups may be available to some, this will depend on arrival date and times ,IE first come first served

Electric if reqd and available will need to be arranged in person with the site warden
Possible space constraints mean NO FURTHER BOOKING CAN BE EXCEPTED FOR THIS MEET
It is hoped that any changes that need to take place will have no detrimental effects on this popular and well turned out meet
Being Funsters I cant see a problem:thumb:

Hi Pammy

Sincere apologies. Have to cancel our slot on the Valentine meet. Got water pump issues :cry:which need fixing before we go full time at end of month.

Hope this doesn't inconvenience you too much

Regards

Better pack the thermals then .
Hope it stays dry and temps rise long enough for Ralph can get the solar panel stuck on this weekend.

Latest Info

Hi all

It is official that our awning on the RV will not be fully repaired for next weekend. We have a gazebo but could do with at least a couple more if possible.

I have asked for the bar to be open on the Friday evening and they are happy to oblige seeing as there are plenty of us. At this time of the year there is not much call for it as you can imagine.

We are hoping to get there about 11am (ish) on the Friday morning so that we can make sure we know where every one is going to go. Look for the motorhomefun banner as you get to the bottom of the drive and then look for our RV - there will be a warm drink waiting for you all.

I'll keep you informed of any further developments.

Really looking forward to next weekend come run or snow.

See you soon.
Pammy & Geo

Are you going to be having us up early to go for a run :Rofl1: or did you mean to put rain??

Wish I'd known about a gazebo we had a large one but it has gone in the skip and is buried under goodness knows what now.

Dale

Update - please read

Hi all

The site owner has been in touch and has stated that if the snow flurries persist we may not now be able to go on the camping field after all.

WE WILL DEFINITELY NOT KNOW UNTIL WE GET THERE TOMORROW.

So, if we get some of you on then great but I am just warning you that this may not now be an option. Therefore please ensure you pack your gennies and the running fuel just in case.

The weather forecast does not look too bad actually, some someshine, some cloud but remaining dry so fingers crossed.

Sorry about this, but it is all beyond our control unfortunately. I'm sure that what ever happens we will all have a great time.

Regards

Hi Pammy,
If we cant go on the camping field does that mean it will be canceled:cry:
Or is there somewhere else , like a car park to stay ? (Hence gennys)
Am i being a bit blond ??
Thanks
Bev

Pammy, I reckon it will be fine mate.. Snow has stopped and no more expected at all.. :-)
In fact it now looks like temps could climb to a whopping 5C over the weekend !!
( info from RAF Scampton ... This place got it right for the dam busters so heres hoping ! )

I hope everything works out okay for this meet and wish all attending safe journeys xxxxxx

Hi Pammy,

We can't use the rally field...
We have 25 attendees...
The campsite has 24-ish pitches that we may not be able to use...

Did she offer an alternative if we CAN'T use the camping field?

:thumb:To sort out the confusion
we are using differant names for the areas to Mrs price

what we call the rally field is in fact a large grassed area and a huge hard standing area, 40+RVs will fit on the hard stuff (no Hook ups)
the grassed area is out of bounds as is the grassed camp site due to wet conditions
All of the Hard standing will be available to us:thumb:
So no bogged down vans this time round

Grahams job has been cancelled for tomorrow so gonna try and pursuade him that we can set off earlier if Emily stays home, otherwise we have to wait until 4pm when she finishes school.

otherwise we have to wait until 4pm when she finishes school.
Hiya Dale
Thats late. Is she at an after school club or something?
Our 3 start at 8.30 am and finish at 2.30 pm since going up to high school , unless there doing drama or something. It used to be 3.30pm at primary school. That hour earlier makes a real difference when going off on a Friday with the traffic.

We wont be arriving till 6.30 ish and i think a few are going to get there 8 ish .
Ralph managed to get the solar panel sikaflexed on today.
So we wont need to take the genny , with it being only a couple of days , the Webasto shouldn't drain the batteries too much , if we don't manage to get hook up.

Bev

Thats because she said "you cant use the rally field because of planning probs you will have to use the campsite" nothing confusing in that, as far as i was concerned the hard standing is in the rally field, now she says that due to wet conditions we cant use the grassed area we will have to use the hard standing, I said but the hard standing is in the rally field that you said we cant use:RollEyes:
she said Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the hard standing may look like its in the rally field but thats not the case, just because the hard standing is surounded by the same hedges as the rally field dont make it part of it, you seeeeeeeeee
Noooooooo that hard standing is in fact over spill car parking:Doh:
Dont be fooled, just because its devided up like in pitch shapes and sizes its a car park not a rally field
You following this yet John, wished you never asked:cry:

You see I dont speak Scunthorpe, when I see a large field, 1/4 grass and 3/4 hard standing divided into pitches, and someone points me at it, then parks me and a few others in it, some on grass and some not, then says this is the rallyfield. I stupidly belived them
not realising that 3/4 of the field is not the field, the remaining 1/4 of the field that is the field cant be used, so were useing the bit that was the field before, but is not now
Seeeeeeemples:Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

Blumming eck lad, I need a drink after reading that :Rofl1:

Also, look out for the Motorhomefun banner. When you come down the drive and it's on the right then turn right on to the hard standing (car park) (rally field) or what ever it is:cry:

If it's on the lft then just look for the RV, cos even I won't know where we are :Rofl1:
