We will be attending the CMC rallies in La Manga and Alannia early next year and would also like to spend time near Valencia as we’ve not been there before. Any campsite recommendations would be helpful please. Also, does the area warrant a two-week stay tacked onto the two rallies?

About 15-20km south is Devesa Gardens, a place we've used on almost every visit over the last few years. Out of season it's quiet, mini-market is open, nice restaurant but limited opening hours. Fully revamped couple of years ago when it was taken over by a chain, facilities spotless. Situated next to a series of lakes in Albufeira National Park, if you want a beach it's about a 15m walk through a wood. Bus to Valencia stops outside every 30mins although we've never tried it - don't "do" cities much. We stay up to 7 days, usually as our first "rest period" after the drive down from Calais.

Valencia is the only place where we had an attempted entry to the MH when parked near the new city, have used a camping outside on subsequent visits.

Maybe just bad luck but we have been wary ever since.

There’s a couple at El Saler, on a bus route, couple of bars down the road and a short cycle to vast beach with two restaurants.

Thanks all for the suggestions and comments. Very helpful.

Another vote for Devesa Garden, but low season best otherwise can get very busy, especially at weekends with locals. Valencia is a lovely city.
