V5 wait times….

Van collected 8 weeks ago, I’d seen and checked the V5 and I have the new keepers slip.

(It was in the previous owners name not the dealer, but I believe that’s normal for the motor trade?)

Dealer said they would do the online V5 straight away.

Any way 8 weeks later, occurs to me I’m V5less no response from dealer and speaking to the DVLA they have no application or request.

It’s no issue as it’s just a quick V62 form and no charge as I have the new keepers slip.

2 questions.

Should I be worried of anything untoward going on.

What are the current delays on getting a V5?

Our new van V5 took around 3 weeks from dealer submission to DVLA production

This is my problem, despite the dealer saying he was doing it. According to the DVLA... he wasn't.

It’s a used / previously registered vehicle I believe, so anyone can do it online.

It was a used van so can be done on the dvla site anyone

I have done online change of keeper three times this year and the new V5 was back in 5 to 8 working days.

Slightly different because we just sold our van through the trade. The dealer submitted the sale/transfer details for us on-line. The tax refund was in our bank within a couple of weeks and the paper acknowledgement arrived after 3 weeks (delayed by CWU strikes).

We picked ours up on 25/11 and V5 received a couple of weeks later. Had an e-mail from DVLA on the day to advise of new keeper transaction.

When I bought mine from a dealer last February the dealer said he had changed ownership into my name online and gave me the green new owner slip.
After not receiving the V5 after a month I contacted DVLA who told me the dealer hadn't changed the details online.
I had to send a form off with a covering letter and receipt.
It then took a further 12 weeks for me to receive the V5 due to a DVLA backlog.
You need the 11 digit reference number on the V5 which is not on the new owners slip to be able to do it online.

That’s dealers not doing it properly, last one I bought did my motorhome to me and my car to him, showed me the computer screen while he did it. Email confirmation straight away.

Yes this is the same as my situation. Although DVLA didn't want a a cover letter or receipt, just the V62 form and the New Keepers slip.
I guess I'll hunker down for 12 weeks and wait!

Have bought and sold a few vehicles this year and always 4-5 days for V5 or confirmation of a vehicle sold.
Also about the same for road fund refunds.
