We found this newly built (2018) old railway line which is impeccably flat and got really good tarmac.
It's 12 Kms long and you can continue to Beaucaire alongside the Gardon.
The route takes you through car park where you pay 18 euros for pont du Gard but it's a voit vert so free for pushbike. It then crosses the actual pont and you can park up and swim and take photos.
We used the Aire at Uzes which is free and free services but no leccy.
The route from the Aire is downhill and relatively steep but not insurmountable and you pass the haribo museum and shop.
You can just park there or over the roundabout and use the path.
It's 12 Kms to pont du Gard and very flat with views both sides of vineyards asparagus olive trees and 2 stations which are now restaurant/cafes

Could you share coordinates or a Google maps link for the Aire and the entrance to the cycling when you have chance please. The only stopover on search for sites is a France passion stop?

That's the one. Don't worry about it being an FP site. It's an Aire and an Fp

44.01626, 4.42156 for the Aire. 12.50 euros for 5 litres of rose.
Free to stay water and dump facilities free no leccy. Park next to olive orchard and opposite vineyard.

Start of route is
43.991861, 4.419698 but there is a cycle route through town s one way system well signposted to get you there.
Hairbo museum car park is at start of route

You forgot to say Uzes is a lovely, historic town with a great market………..and the free aire is a short stroll from the town centre, we love the place.
Oh yes the wine sold at the vineyard/aire is rather good 🍷👌

That loks very nice, slightly jealeous !

I just noticed on our 2017 atlas that there is a railway line that follows the same route.
That railway line has to be the now disused Uzes to Remoulins line

Suavecarve you are so incredibly helpful. We have been to these places but will go again now you have told us about this. Can I ask how you are charging your electric bikes this holiday?

I was charging them off the hab battery via inverter.
120 watts of solar and 2 X 110 amps.
We were doing ok with battery management until it got really hot and we parked under trees.
I thought I would still get enough light to charge batteries but I was wrong.
Then it became more difficult as we still need to charge other things.
I thought I would look for charging points and found an article on Bosch providing these chargers and we happen to have Bosches. (Different thread with maps) So we now have 60 different free charging points in the Vaucluse and now have map of this area and will be doing via venaissia today setting off from Pernes Les Fontaine's and that is another recent railway line job. Worth checking out on Google.
We have decided to up the solar when we get back.

I m also thinking of contacting France tourisme to get them thinking that if any cyclist turned up with any PAT tested bike charger they could just charge it.

Do you know if they are fast chargers? otherwise it could be a 5 hour lunch, and a very wobbly cycle home 😂😂😂😜😜

I was considering an extra panel on my roof recently but I may just go with a 100w portable panel with built in controller. I'm thinking it can be placed anywhere around the van to catch the sun. I'll just install a suitable socket on the outside of the van so that I can just plug it in when necessary.

What I read was that it would do a bar (5 bars so 20 per cent) in half an hour. we were on 2 bars and came back 2 hours later and it was fully charged.
They are exactly the same chargers as we have been "given" by Bosch and they just plug them into the mains for you.
We took our chargers just in case, but they werent necessary
