Using motorhome fridge on gas.

I have got an Elddis autoquest 150 (2021) and we usually stay at campsites with electric hook up. We have started doing some wild camping and are unsure of how to use the fridge on the gas setting. Do we just turn it to the gas setting on the fridge panel or do we need to do something more?

Different fridges, different settings so we need pictures. Some auto ignition, older ones hold a button or manual clicker for spark.

I would guess at the age of your moho it would be automatic. Turn gas on make sure any valve for the fridge is turned on and select gas on the fridge. You should hear some clicking and likely a light on the fridge display. If clicking stops and you have a steady green or perhaps amber light it is on. If it is red something wrong. as said above a picture helps along with make and model.

On a van as new as yours, I would think that you just switch to gas. I usually find that they’re more efficient on gas, so turn temp setting down as it gets colder.

Also, check that you’ve removed the covers from the vents if fitted and also on the exhaust for the boiler if you have that type, then kick back and enjoy.

Make sure the gas is turned on at the bottle and just turn the fridge to gas mode.you will hear it clicking as the spark igniter operates until the gas ignites.best to turn the fridge 3/4 setting rather than on full blast.

If it a 2021 model either Thetford or Dometic. For Thetford does the control give you the options 240/gas/12 volt and auto. If you have leave it on the auto setting it will take care of itself. Only thing is if you turn the gas off when driving you will have to remember to turn it on each time you stop. On dometic the control pand has pictures press the button till A lights up the same as above. You should have a bulkhead crash regulator so you may have the provision to have the heating on whilst driving. This shuts the gas off in the event of a leak or crash. If so and there are many different opinions on this I would leave the gas on then all should be well. When you pull in to say a petrol station the gas will not ignite the fridge for app 15 mins to allow you to take fuel without a naked flame on.

Be aware that if you have swapped fuel source it may do nothing for 15mins before trying to light the gas. Safety thing.

I take it from that post that like for other buyers the seller did supply manuals to cover all the vehicle and its equipment.?

If so, despicable sales standards.
