Using a phone as DashCam - Drivermatics

Anyone using a phone as a DashCam?

I have just started using Drivermatics and it appears to do the job as our Renault has a cigarette power point in the right place to hold a phone which can then be used as a DashCam and SatNav.
It appears to be restricted in what it can do with an iPhone and I have raised that with them but as with SatNavs, it appears to be a function which can be carried out by a phone.
Don't remember any discussions and just wondering about anyone else's opinion on this or any other DashCam app.

Check to see if Phone overheats in the window.....ours did when using it as a GPS....however we do live in Spain....
