More than toes wet now!
Gellyneck submitted a new resource:

User Manual for Jaws Dash Cam - User created manual for Jaws Dash Cam

Having purchased (early 2015) one of the dash cam units that John (Jaws) buys in bulk and resells on here it took me a few days to figure out how to use the thing!

Having (kinda) sussed it out I created a user manual for myself given I'll have forgotten how to the next time I use it!

Might be of use to other purchasers but leave you to be the judge of that.;)

Read more about this resource...

Wow! and Wow again! :)
Thank you so much for this @Gellyneck , it looks fantastic (obviously haven't tried it yet)
I bought one of Jaws' dashcams xxxx months ago and haven't got round to using it yet o_O too IT illiterate to feel motivated :( but I just know this will do it for me (y)
Thanks again:)

Exactly as said above, look forward to getting it working now, many, many thanks, brilliant.

I notice you say it may work with Windows 2000 and 8\8.1.
I can't comment on Windows 2000 but it definitely works with 8 and 8.1 as this laptop (currently running Windows 10) was able to run the software in both versions.

Thanks Graham. v1.2 now uploaded to include this.(y)

I cannot find the thread discussing working with a Mac as mentioned in the Manual. Can anyone point it out please?

Standard process is to push card in until it "clicks" into place. The push in can sometimes be passed the surface so finger nail is required. Removal is reverse of this, push in until "clicks" and and should spring out.
If you're doing this and still doesn't retain the card think you'll need to have a word with John.

Think there's a few posts included in John's original thread on placing an order for the dashcams that discuss operation with a Mac. Manufacturers position is that software doesn't work with iOS.

As already said above.. unless you have nails like mine it can be difficult to get the card in !

But not all of us have the time to sit and file them all day!:imoutahere:

LOL !! Woman is for ever on at me about my nails.. They are always dirty, always far too long and could apparently be used as steel shuttering !!

Please can I ask a couple of questions that I cannot find an answer to?

1. If running on battery, approx how long can I expect it to last?

2. Is it possible to turn off the screen? This would save battery life and probably should not be visible to a driver anyway

TIA

I believe you can turn the screen off..
No idea how long they last on battery only but going by others of a similar ilk not that long.. Maybe 30 minutes ?

Like John I'm not sure about battery life but half an hour or so is probably right.

Our screen turns off automatically. I think (without actually looking at the camera, which is in the van) it may be the LCD Default setting which controls it.

Only ever run the battery down once. Not long after I got it. I had it plugged into a USB hub however the bl**** hub wasn't plugged into the computer!

Battery ran down in about 20 - 25 minutes.

Thanks for that, about 30 minutes life and set LCD Default to On, I guess

If you want to view the recording "real-time" yep that's what you'd do.(y)
However, you really should have it plugged into a power supply!
