Would it be the same piece of kit for an echo dot 4th gen?
The 4th generation are thicker so need a different bracket and a different cable.

I find those USB adapters for the Echo Dots pretty rubbish and the reviews are not good either.
Initially I just used little 12V regulators I wired up myself to the original cables which I just chopped the Plug/Transformers off to make sure I didn't drive them at too high a voltage, but now I have the whole of the hab electrics regulated to 12.2V, I just power the Dots (3rd Gen I think?) direct from the Hab DC electrics.
FWIW, I use brackets bought from Amazon to mount them under the overhead cupboards.

I tried a few usb leads to the Dot but failed when volume turned up so not quite enough current.

I have wired my echo dot to a W4, 2 pin 12v plug as we had a socket in Monty. Then made up a lead by adding a plug on that Dot side.
