On my last radio the usb was just like a 3.5mm aux socket. In so much you plugged something in but it only received the signal generated from the external power source. Such as a ipod, mp3 player or from a phone. Same as the aux socket.
Yours maybe the same.

I found that the stick can only read upto 32gb so 64GB no work, and it had to be a USB 2.0, USB3.0 no work !

Thank you for your replies everyone.
The problem was the original CD had the tracks recorded in CDe format which will not work unless the original CD is present.
Ripped the tracks which converted them to MP3 which then worked .
Thanks again.
