A small electric fan heater on a low setting should be okay, it will just take longer to heat the van initially and not keep it so warm. Your heater will have a label on it that gives the numbers for the amount of power it consumes. If you read that and post it on here someone will be able to help you. You might have to switch most things off before you use the electric heater.
I have to switch everything off except a light or two when I use my microwave. I forgot once and it tripped the van electrics and our old Hymer would trip the site electrics in France if we used the cabin air conditioning.
If you were closer to us in Scotland you could come and camp on our drive for a few days However we have found on campsites there will always be someone willing to help when you get stuck.
Last year (?) when we were in Ayr we had a knock on the hab door one evening, someone with the same make of van as us, first trip away and they couldn't get various things to work. We were more than happy to help out and share a pot of tea.
