Rally Chat Upton Blues Festival

We went to the Blues Festival in 2018 and parked up with the Funsters group. We have booked to go back this year and having checked the Forums I don’t see any threads relating to the event and wondered if there will be a Funsters area?

Are any Funsters planning on attending?

Yes there are a few of us going!

Camping is now extended to 6 nights so we are going Wednesday to Tuesday.

We should organise a meet-up maybe?

(Assuming you mean the main one and not the Drum and Monkey?)

Me and AdamH are at Blackmore C&CC site, 4 miles from Upton. Hoping to get there at 9am tomorrow to get a good pitch

If any of you enjoy more traditional Blues music, watch out for the Foregate Street Blues Band.

They are playing at the Boathouse on Wednesday from 8pm and Friday 6-8pm and in the Baptist Church from 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.

We have a permanent pitch about four miles away but might want to wander over some time.

Have fun all that’s going, some good bands on and if you like the Tennessee Whisky type of blues try and get to see Vincent Flatts final drive, they are very very good, great guitarist and a raspy old whisky swilling singer who I thing is superb. Seen them a few times, worth the effort

I‘m not there this time but, again, if you like traditional blues, The Foregate Blues are atthe Baptist Church on Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes.

Saw them at the Old Bush Blues a couple of years ago... and I agree, excellent.
