I have a 2019 Westfalia PVC on the 636cm Ducato Maxi chassis. The first owner specified all available options which has cut into the 500kg payload and I would like to uprate. I have a C1 licence and am only 60. I have read through various threads on the forum and have not understood what weight I can go to without requiring suspension modifications - 3,850kgs or possibly 4,250kgs?
The Fiat plate shows: 3,500kg, 6,500kg, axle 1@2,100kg and axle 2@2,400kg. The Westfalia plate is the same except that the 6,500kg number (train weight?) has been reduced to 6,000kg
The van is on 16” Borbet alloys rated at 1,450kgs and 225/75 16R(116) camper tyres.
I am planning to use SVTech to help with the uprating. It’s just that I would like to understand the situation better before contacting them and would really appreciate if someone could explain the issues.
