Also, look up on car tax check and if the weight has been amended it will be on line.

Mine took a couple of weeks, then a couple more, the third and final time took, you guessed it, a couple of weeks but I got there in the end.
Good luck.

Sent out in on 27th March. It took 5 1/2 weeks to return. But that was around several bank holidays.

Mine was sent to the DVLA on the 18th May by Royal Mail Special Delivery, it was signed for at the DVLA at 01:57 on Monday 20th May, yes at that time in the morning.

I chased it up yesterday (6th June) to be told that they didn't log it into the system until the 3rd June!! That's two weeks sat in a tray before they even looked at it! They quote four weeks for this process.

I requested that the process was escalated to which the reply was 'I will put a note on it it's up to the case worker to follow up on that" nearly those words but meaning the same.

I told the person with whom I had the 'Chat' with that it must be back by next Friday (14th June) as we are booked to go into Europe with the vehicle. I have saved a transcript of the chat ready to have another go at them if it's not back be mid next week.

I'm not unduly worried as I have a copy of the previous V5C (3.5tonne) which I will take with me having never been asked for it in Europe. I have had the experience of being asked for someone else's documents after an accident in Spain, I asked the officer if I could take a copy before he had the original to which he agreed. When I offered him either he took the copy:giggle:, he never seemed to realise that it wasn't the original, neither did the police station when my friend went to collect it:giggle:.
