Ultrasonic water level sensor ?

How will you use the output? 0.5v is hardly enough to switch a transistor on properly. 🤔
Also there's working voltage and outside working voltage. Hope it comes with a diagram 👍
Well it arrived and works a treat !
Only 3 wires... Red, +ve , black -ve and yellow a switch -ve
Input 5 to 24v dc, output the same as what ever you put in
Tried it on 12v, straight switching an LED ( via a 10k resistor ) .. worked no problem

This is how I will wire it.. Nice and simple

Nice! Good to see another person hacking away at electronics .... Another thought, you could try one of these cheapo (from Shenzen China) flow meters which run of 3x AA Batteries: Even measures your temperature!!

But it sounds like you have your solution for your particular issue ...

Cheers (and 73s  )

Yup.. I do not need a progressive read out, only an indication of when we are down to below a 1/4 tank :-)

Laying in bed last night, I realised I do not even need a relay, I can switch it using an NPN three legged fuse :-)

I've ordered a float switch, works with a Reed switch in it, seen them used on fridge condensate trays to bring a heater on. (It's on another thread somewhere 😏)
Going to fit it a quarter of the way up for a 25% warning LED

Hi,
Any chance you can post a fools guide once completed? I’m pretty good with most things just not savvy with working out the electrics but once I know where things go I’m ok.

The water filler on my previous 'van - a Bilbos Celex, was located INSIDE the rear, next to the bed. I had to be really careful filling because soaking the bedding was a real possiblity. I fitted a sight tube with the clips indicating the level at 10L intevals.

Hi John

What about something like this ? Stuck on the outside of the tank at the required levels. I'm sure AllanK used these on his water tank in his minibus conversion to camper

Cheers

Trevor
My tank is underneath van so cant see the warning light -otherwise good choice .

Mine is the most accurate I’ve ever had,
When water stops coming from the tap, I know it’s empty so I put some more in.

Yes no problem, there's more info on that thread 👇 so I'll update that one, might do it tomorrow, I've already glued the LED in the panel but not much else yet 👍
