Looking
Currently van hunting and interested in a van that has the 3 L fiat engine which states its euro 4 . Tfl website says its ulez compliant ? Is this just wrong as I thought it would have to be euro 6 minimum. Cheers

You do not say the age of the motorhome. My Fiat based Hymer with the 3 litre engine was first registered in November 2015. All of the clean air zones in the UK, including the London ULEZ state that it is compliant.

Also what weight ? If over 3.5t you need to consider the LEZ too, which could cost up to £300 per day.

It's a Murvi panel van conversion so not overly heavy . It was the vehicle check that said it was compliant hence checking the tfl website which just says blue fiat . So what to buy an 05 murvi with the 2.3 engine or an 08 with the 3 lt. Both same milage ,history etc . The 05 being on the old ducato van chassis. The 08 being more expensive .

If TFL says it’s compliant then it’s compliant. Our 3L Fiat was compliant, the rules are different if it’s over 3.5 tons.

I was under impression that since the extension of the ULEZ that it now covers the old LEZ so there is no longer a separate LEZ....
Just Congestion Charge and Ultra Low Emission Zone!.

Just make sure when checking these schemes you always use the official checker, 3rd party ones cannot be relied upon.

No, there are still 3 schemes in London: Congestion Charge, LEZ and ULEZ (its just that the LEZ and ULEZ now cover the same area).

Well if I was not confused before... I certainly am now???
That is exactly what they intended to do & to catch people out by scamming.
& what you have to remember is that if TFL say it is "compliant" = it is.Even if it isn't.
If they say it is not "compliant " even if it is & was bought yesterday, then it will never be "compliant " according to TFL

I have a letter from Tfl which says my vehicle is compliant. The website says it is not.

You are correct that geographically the LEZ and ULEZ are co-located but the rules of compliance for various vehicles - weights, age and emissions are different.

We are exempt from the £12.50 ULEZ if we pay the £100 LEZ

Yes it says that on the website but I see nothing about whether there is an exemption from the Congestion charge.
Nobody is exempt from the congestion charge except those that can afford to pay it..

I would have thought that if you pay £100 or £300pd for LEZ it should be included, just as ULEZ charge is included/exempt.

It also avoids the faff of paying each charge separately.
Frayed knot - I take the hint when I hit the M25 before getting anywhere near the CC zone

There is no exemption for us peasants.

No TFL say they are for "two different scenarios"

If you need to pay the LEZ you do not pay ULEZ. You pay one or the other not both. This is for our Motorhome.
