Ulez coming to Scotland

ULEZ's will be coming to every city and most major towns right across the UK and EU over the next 5 years.

If you have a pre Euro6/2016 Diesel engine in your M/H you need to be thinking of an upgrade pretty fast.
Certainly within 2023.

The resale value of pre 2016 diesels is already heading downwards from the spring 22 peak.
They could be borderline worthless within 3-5 years as they will be limited to non-urban main roads.

This maybe OK if you live and tour around NW Scotland, but even to get an MOT will mean going into a town at least once a year. Driving abroad will become impossible, as all of the ports will be covered by a ULEZ.
Avoid when possible... if not pay fine....Will still be cheaper than buying new van only for them to move goal posts and make your new "compliant van" UNCOMPLIANT once again.

I've never heard of them being referred to as trams. To me a tram ran on rails and a trolleybus was an electric bus which got its power from overhead power lines. Saying that, trams were before my time so it is possible (y)
Here you go Wee Bold Davy .. hope this works.

Exactly I’ve never heard so much scaremongering rubbish.
Iv just read it again and I hadn't got the full jist of it first time, absolute rubbish.
Iv got a 1958 a35 car ,a 02 ford ranger, an 08 van and I can confidently predict they will all be going as long as me.

Never had any great interest in trams but have a collection of scale model buses mainly from Central Scotland in a display cabinet at home, more for nostalgia than anything else as I traveled a lot by bus in my younger days. ;)

I cannot think of the last time I drove near a city never mind into one. I will stick with my 2010 van thank you very much.
Think you are wrong on prices. Diesel vans are going to be limited resource shortly as manufacturers are going to stop making them before the 2030 deadline.

Bradford starts their ULEZ this month.
Would I go to Bradford in my motorhome? NO.
Even if I had to route via it, I would sooner not and choose an alternative.
The standard of driving is probably the worst in the UK in my opinion.
Would I change my motorhome because of it? No.
I might add that they have difficulty in getting people to tax and insure the motors it will be interesting to to see how this works out.
