Do I believe that little villages, or even the towns are going to start manning aires other than some collecting money? Maybe they will get the visiting boulangerie van, or even the evening ice cream van to do the checks and banish any Brits without the right paperwork.

As our van is German and lhd I will get some false French number plates and Velcro them over mine whilst in France.
Damn, just realised our weight plate states that we are over 3500kg and so wouldn’t get away with it as none of theirs go over that.

It's a wake up call and we got ours this morning, the French authorities were really on the ball at moving us on, they did however refund some of the fees we hadn't paid ...
I hear camping car parks are charging double if your British as well. Unbelievable.
