I was going to pose this question on the Insurance forum but I think here is more suitable.
Just wondering how people on extended trips up to 90 days get their house and contents in Insured.
I have just checked mine and the maximum I can have is 30 days unoccupied with no ways of upgrading.
Clearly going away in the winter with all the storms that we having poses a risk so leaving the house uninsured would not be a great idea.
Would be grateful for any ideas on insurance providers who cover long trips.

Thanks in advance

Co-op allow 60 days but this is reset if a friend/family member stay overnight so 90 days is possible.

IIRC it’s the two major clubs (CAMH and C&CC) that offer 180 days. Unfortunately, they wont cover me due to proximity to a brook. 🤷‍♂️

We had insurance with the Caravan and motorhome Club and they offered 90 days this was last year and we are no longer a member so don,t know if it is still current

We've just had some plumbing work done and have been advised to turn off the main stopcock if going away for more than a week. We were told that two customers of the plumbing company have been refused insurance payouts for water damage because they had not done so. Apparently neither customer was aware that if away for more than a week they would not be covered unless the stopcock was turned off. Have any of you read such a clause?

Intasure 6 months as long as u tell them and have regular visits to clear post, check all ok and heating set to 12°.

Yes they still do, I'm about to renew with them for this reason.

Just renewed with the C&C clubcare.
180 days with 14 day visits, heating set to 15°C or water completely drained down and isolated.

Aviva charged extra £20.73 premium for cover beyond 60 days and imposed conditions such as weekly visit by Authorised Person, heating to be left on at at least Anti Frost settings OR water supply turned off and CH system drained. Any theft from premises not covered, unless there are signes of forced entry...

Ours doesn't require that but if we are going away for any length of time we turn it off - and leave the heating on low so it only comes on if really necessary.

We're with Halifax which gives us 60 days and we can extend it to 90 days for just over £20 for a single trip.

M&S allow 90 days with no strings or visits! The push bike addition is also very good.
Just been working on my home insurance quote .
It seems that 90 days is possible with say M&S or Halifax but if you are doing two 90 trips in one year would you be covered I.e your unoccupied for 180 days per year albeit with a 3 month stay at home .
It’s a bit of a legal minefield any thoughts ?

Yes unless they specifically say its only 90 days in each policy year.

I tried a number of Companies but have gone with Towergate. Up to 6 months unoccupied, heating left on at 15c and neighbour putting his head in once a week for us. They all require regular checks.I paid £277.69 for the year which seemed reasonable
