From tomorrow there's this restriction.Note that there are some exemptions. Prepare for fridge and cupboard checks!

This is one border restriction that I fully support, and it should be strictly adhered to by the public and those controlling the restrictions.

UK is free of FMD, let it be kept that way. Hopefully the Irish government will also be strict - I am sure they will, as it affects them greatly too.

Judging by the amount of bacon and sausages smuggled out of the UK into the EU in moho and caravan fridges I doubt it will apply to them the other way unless they get caught out.

hope we don’t get foot and mouth back here again, horrible disease for all involved..

remembering back to last time with no lambs in the fields or other stock of course and the resultant fires of animals being burnt, awful..

We just go to ice land when in Spain if we want bacon and things and we normally eat local produce.
When in France but I have know of ones who don’t care.
Bringing back cheese especially to the uk and ham

I absolutely get the need for regulations to stop foot and mouth. However how can the import of a bit of butter or couple of pints of milk which you have been using on your trip and will use on return to GB spread the disease?

You can’t expect an inspector at a border to check whether something was made from raw dairy products. We wouldn’t like the length of the queue if they did. Far safer to ban the lot. Eat your sandwiches before leaving the EU.

Supposed it ok then to just ignore it what if we all just totally ignored it then just throw that bit of milk that’s gone off in the road side bin or that bit of contaminated cheese in the field full of live stock or.
Maybe give you dog the contaminated milk then it craps in the field whar you have let it worry the sheep.
Or you put your contaminated milk cartons in the bin a fox rips open the bag and it go’s
And craps in the field Whare the live stock
That bit of bacon butty you threw out the camper in a lay-by the seagull piked up but dropped it in the field of live stock
Contaminated the grass the cows or sheep
Were eating
Easer still just don’t bring it in

Hopefully all of those who think laws such as angles mortes signs don't apply to them will adhere to this.

Ignoring a rule which in extreme cirumstances of endangering one person, because the MH is a few kilos over the weight of lighter weight a vehicle of similar dimensions, is de minimus in its effect and scope, since it does not potentially effect a much wider population and its livelihood.

Originally vegetarians were what is now known as vegan, then came ovo, lacto, pescatarians etc. love asking 'vegetarians' what sort of vegetable a prawn is
Just need to watch the Australian border force and how they try to keep their country safe.
We don't want foot and mouth again, remember the pyres last time and the farmers and small holders took their own lives because of it.
I love French cheese but wont be bringing any back with me next time.

Foot and mouth was something I'll never forget. I used to drive from Glasgow to Lymm and back each night. I'll never forget seeing all those fires and the smell was truly awful. I hope we never see it again.:(

I agree with you wholeheartedly. One can hardly imagine the emotional strain on my soldiers who aided the security, slaughter and disposal of livestock.

Bugger. That's three packs of Toulouse sausage I'll be leaving behind.

We don’t bother with that - as soon as you get out of the tunnel at Calais there’s a Lidl 5 mins away. Our first point of call to get dog food and human food ( and booze )

Or maybe that would be the wine?! 😆
Not in my hubby's case, we had some camembert which I didn't like it so he decided to gorge on it despite my 'warnings' ... he certainly had a good excuse to spend a long time in the loo ... needless to say he's never done it again!
