This subject refers to those in the title who have got/renewed Residents Cards under the Withdrawal Agreement(WA)

Those cards give certain exemptions from EES, ETIAS and passport stamping, provided one can prove the card was issued under the Withdrawal Agreement.

Can anybody advise what part of the Residency Card actually has the information about the WA?

If it is not on the card does one need to carry extra documents, if so, what?

We had full residency cards before the withdrawal agreement but had to change because of the WA agreement, we now have 10 years permanent residence cards they are marked
Carte de Sejour 28-03-2031 Permanent - Article 50 TUE that wording is on front of cards.

Thanks, I have found the same on my card.

When I looked into Art 50, which covers the general provision for a State to withdraw from the EU, in para 2. it states -

"A Member State that has decided to withdraw shall notify its intention to the European Council.
In the light of the guidelines of the European Council, the Union shall negotiate and conclude an agreement with that State setting out the arrangements for its withdrawal, taking into account the framework of its future relationship with the Union. This agreement is negotiated in accordance with Article 218(3) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union."

So there is no reference to the terms of the EU-UK WA specifically. We have to rely on each Immigration Officer's own training on it. Mon Dieu!

I have however found a UK Gov document that states that any passport stamp is negated on the presentation of a Residents Card.

We live in Cyprus and are Permanent Residents. When we enter and exit Cyprus we show our Residents Card and our passports are not stamped.
The card states:

UKW3
Issued under article 18(4) of the agreement 2019/C 384 I/01

Type of permit Article 50 TEU

Validity 10 years.

All this information is on the front of the card.

Kind regards

Pam

Mine has Art 18 but not the 2019/C 384 1/01, just some Polish wording. I shall have to wait until my translator comes back at the w/e from chomping carrots on a health farm.

Was the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement finalised as early as 2019?

To be honest I don’t know.
For us it was an exchange for the new card from the previous MEU3 which was a piece of paper.
It wasn’t compulsory to change from paper to a plastic card, It’s just more robust and user friendly.
We were finger printed for the card.

If you have a Residency card. What does it matter if your passport is stamped ?.
If the person employed doesn't know the rules for residency & stamps the passport why should you believe that the same person will know that a residency card entitles the person to the same rights as a national? That's why it matters.
