Hi all, was wondering if We travelled over to France /Spain this yr ( never done before in M/Home) do We have to have 3 Peak Tyres. I only just fitted last yr ordinary Michelin Camper Tyres as Van was 5 yrs old & don't really want to be buying again, thanks Chris.

In France, winter tires with the 3PMSF (three peaks mountain snow flake) marking are required from November 1, 2024:

  • What's required
From November 1, 2024, winter tires must be marked with the 3PMSF symbol. All-season or four-weather tires are not considered winter tires.

  • When it applies
The law applies to both locals and visitors from November 1 to March 31.

  • Where it applies
The law applies in 34 of France's 96 mainland départements, which are mostly mountainous areas. Local authorities determine which roads within each département are covered by the law.

  • I have just returned from a ski trip with just camper tyres fitted , if you take along snow socks or chains that should suffice.
previously if you do not have the right equipment you are directed to safe parking area until pass is safe to proceed. buses and coaches seem to have no problems. can i suggest you look at the ski section motorhome fun which may assist your enquiry.
