Been told sensors in the wheels are working ok but the monitor is not interpreting the signals.Has anyone had this monitor device changed and if so,how much OR can you have it permanently cancelled
Is it a standalone system or in the van, and what chassis if the latter?
Just to add ours is the IVECO chassis system and rubbish, you can't set your own pressures and the factory ones are over 75psi so a bit high for the rear when not loaded, one sensor has regularly gone off but comes back on after a while, since the recent service and ECU update two different ones have gone off and won't come back on, I would like it deleted as I have bought Tyre-Pal but I don't think they will oblige, incidentally I found the Caravan and MoHo club shop the cheapest other than Ebay.
Original Peugeot / Boxer and Alko chassis.Tyre pressures checked and checked again and tyre sensors okay so has to be the monitor connected to warning light which is permanently on despite driving for miles
There are batteries in the tyre monitors if you have the direct type but they are expected to last 5 - 10 years. This type usually have a receiver for the signals from the wheel located on the body close(ish) to the wheel which could be faulty and sending misleading signals.
The indirect type of TPMS use the ABS sensors / rotors so a fault there should have brought up an ABS fault.
I'm coming from an era where the only way to check tyre pressures was with a gauge at each tyre valve!
