More than toes wet now!
We've been using a couple of Tyrepal tyre pressure monitoring systems (car and motorhome) and have just had to replace a fourth sensor in c3 years after failure (stopped reading / stuck at a fixed number for pressure). Batteries are changed every couple of years.

That's us used up all our spare sensors and wondering whether we continue to replace at c £29/unit or look at alternative systems. If it was to be additional Tyrepal sensors would probably buy a complete new system as this gives 4 sensors for c£95 however are we then "just feeding the animal"!

Alternative complete systems specified at high pressures suitable for the motorhome seem to be around £30-35 for 4 sensors or £55-60 for 6 sensors. Still to check out whether 6 units can be used in a 4 unit set-up giving 2 spares for failures.

Any Funsters using, and would recommend, alternative systems (not Tyrepal) for us to consider?

I have a cheap Chinese clone and have changed the batteries about a year ago after 2 1/2 years .
They are a bit temperamental to pair up as you seem to have to do each in turn as they are fitted.

I gave up on my tyrepal years ago as useless as far as I was concerned on the tag axle. The cars tell me when they need checking. The rear’s on the tag rarely need attention but the fronts usually need quite a bit if not used for a while.

Old fashioned once a week check with tyre pressure gauge.
Gives you the chance of checking wheels/tyres for any other damage.

Yes agree... however not quite that easy with a DRW configuration..
The reason I fitted Tyrepals..

Used Tyrepal for a decade on caravan, car and motorhome. There is a trick to longevity.
Take them off, if you aren't driving that month and store them in a little (named) bag. Also I change the batteries every year.

Prior to doing this I think I knackered two sensors, due to the batteries leaking or corroding inside.

Tyrepal saved our motorhome on two occasions, neither time was a blowout. The told me that the tyres were getting really hot, due to the downhill I was doing in the Pyrenees and then again in the Alps.

I'd give Tyrepal a thumbs up, but it takes a while for it to give a reading. You have to drive several hundred meters before all four sensor provide a measurement. If you're on a trip after resting up for a while, you need to give the van a local pre-trip so check the status.
