Hi All
I have just recived my order of 4 Conti all season tyres form Asda tyres and have seen the date codes are 2 of 5023 and 2 of 3423 . Should I reject the year old ones? I normally change my tyres every 5-6 years regardless of mileage so these ones having a year on them already means I am going to get a year less.
Or does no one really care about it?

Don’t think I’d like tyres that have been sat around for a year, especially as they’ll probably store them laying down. When I had mine fitted by Halfords, I enquired about this and they stated that they would return them if they reached 6 months old. Mine were brand new, so unless the price reflects the extra year, I’d refuse them.

Just my opinion though 👍🏻

Tyre suppliers consider tyres up to 2 years old as new but if you are not happy worth a try at rejecting.
Our new van delivered in June, tyres were Aug & Sept 23 as we wear them out in 3 to 4 years doesn't bother us.

Update

I did reject the tyres and have a full refund
I would reject all of them and buy van tyres, I’ve just got rid of the harsh ride no grip continentals on my van….
These are van tyres C not CP :)

Further update
After taking to the Conti customer tech team they said there are lots of these tyres in uk wholesalers between 4 and 6 months old. Ive just got to find them now.
Is there a reason you are wanting Continental tyres ?

I have Michelin on at the moment and really don't like the harsh ride. I need tyres with the 3 peaks symbol for our autumn trip and didn't want or rather couldn't afford a summer and winter set and the Continental Conti Van Contact Four Season 225/75 R16 C 121/120R TL came out around winner in a few van tyre tests. Happy to look at some other if you have a good recommendation.

I’ve just had Bridgestone Duravis Allseason fitted at £150 each, had the normal Duravis ones on previously but these have the 3 peaks symbol on.

My camper continentals are 10 now, maybe I should throw a party seeing as we're in Benidorm 😁
I suppose I should look at replacing when we get back but it hurts me knowing there a couple of mil left on the fronts 😆

They stand all winter too, they're great tyres but it's a harsh ride.

I fitted Nankang AW8, happy with them having done around 5000 miles now.

Nearly fitted these on ours but couldn’t get them at a decent prince where I am at so went with falcon all seasons, 3 peaks same specs.
Much much better ride than the conti vans we had on front and some gt redial cp ones on rear, these had been only 4 years old when I went to get the wheels back the fitter told/ showed me how bad the rears had been, quite frightening the walls had started falling apart on the inside!!

Why buy local when you can buy online for this price ?

Update

Well after chasing round for the Conti tyres I gave up and decided to go for the tyres recommended to me on here and via a Hymer group. Falken EuroAll Season VAN11 Tyres 225/75/16 121/120R . These were 60% of the cost of the continentals and have the 3 peaks mark which I wanted. My local tyre garage fitted them and they all have DOT codes of 1624 , Falken even sent me the pressure sheet for the C tyres so I could get the correct pressures based on our ready to travel weights from the local bridge (3.0 Bar front 4.5 Bar rear).
