Two batteries wiring.

Due to mobility issues we've had to swap to a caravan and not sure about my solar setup.
2 x 100w panels and 2 x 110a batteries connected to a pwm Truma controller that as twin battery connections.
Has far as I can see the second battery is only connected to the controller.
Can anyone advise me how it should be wired correctly and how to check please?
 
Your batteries will be (most likely) wired to be in parallel and provide 12V 220A, putting the solar bolts into one battery will charge both (there are “OK” and “good” ways to achieve that though).

The solar panels should be connected in parallel. That means the two positives are joined to each other, and then a wire from the join to the solar controller positive. Then do the same with the negatives, join them together, and then a wire from the join to the solar controller negative.

The solar controller can supply two independent batteries. But for your usage you don't want two independent batteries, you want your two batteries to be joined together so that they act as one big battery.

Position the two batteries next to each other and wire the two batteries in parallel. That means join the two positive terminals together with a link wire, and join the two negative terminals with a link wire.

Then connect a wire from the positive of Battery1 on the solar controller to one of the positive battery terminals, it doesn't matter which one.

Next connect a wire from the negative of the Battery1 on the solar controller to one of the negative battery terminals. Again, it doesn't matter much which one of the two you choose, but ideally it should be the negative on the other battery, not the same battery.

The Battery2 output of the solar controller is not used in a caravan. It is used in a motorhome to send a trickle charge to the vehicle starter battery, to stop it going flat when parked for long periods.

You will also want to connect all your habitation circuits to the pair of batteries. Ideally connect them to the same terminals as the solar controller uses.

🤔 probably not where I’d purchase one from.

Go to a reputable dealer, the item will probably been made in China but to a dealers required standard.
 
Renology based in California and Thailand so I would imagine all the components are made in China and put together in Thailand?
 
Actually that one is very expensive 😆

I am interested why you find a caravan is better?

I would have thought the opposite, although I do use the garage for the scooter.

Our motorhome had a fixed bed across the back above the garage and my wife who has Parkinson's was finding it ever more difficult to get in and out.
If we could have afforded an island bed motorhome that's the way we would have gone.
