Hi all, New here and need some suggestions please :giggle:

We have been considering a MH for what seems like decades and I've been doing what research I can to learn about the various makes/models and layouts, and decided that sleeping is very important to us.

I think we want raised twin single fixed beds with a layout like the Hymer Van 572 meaning that we each can get in and out without disturbing the other as well as having a large "garage" for all the junk that we will inevitably end up carrying and don't want inside. I don't fancy an island bed as I think they tend to be quite narrow? I'm quite large and my wife likes to get as far away from me as possible while in bed

So to the point:

Are there pitfalls to two singles that can be made into a double that I haven't considered?
How on earth do I find a list of MH's with twin single beds? Can current or ex owners let me know the make models as long as they can be bought for sub £30k?

Budget is hopefully up to £25k but could be added to if needed (I think a 2007/2008 Hymer Van should be perhaps higher end of that ball park?), shorter the better and very willing to listen to and learn from current or ex owners of similar spec vehicles.

Thanks for reading!

We looked at a few when we changed vans 18 months ago.
The biggest issue I had (being 6'-2") was that I couldn't sit up on the bed without my head hitting the ceiling as the beds are quite high up.
We ended up with an island bed which is great, but it resulted in a smaller (lower) garage.

If you go the Autotrader, select Motorhomes, then you can choose your budget and any other options, including bed layout. I suggest if your budget is £30K max, put your search in for £35K.
I couldn't be bothered to keep my HGV going, so we elected to restrict ourselves to a 3500kg van, with a small trailer for the wife odds and ends.

Consider looking at some of the A class models made by Hymer there is a fair bit of headroom in them and surprisingly some in reasonably length vehicles.
ours is B678DL which is 7.5m long however there are shorter versions which have virtually same layout with good sized garages the Exsis I range are very good.😊

Twin singles is probably the most popular layout in vans certainly in contental vans.

Hymer single beds tend to be a bit narrow, in Carthago's they are a bit wider.

With Hymer's the parts to turn the singles into a double is an option so may not be there on a used van. We have had two Hymers with twin beds and not bothered with the option.

Thank you! In all the time I've been looking at Autotrader I've never noticed the bed layout option
You could do a lot worse than checking out the Motorhomes for sale in the classifieds on the forum there are some really nice vans for sale 😊
