So I have bought a new Globescout and when I enquired about a TV mount (it comes minus a mount) they said they didn’t recommend fitting one above the bench seat as it’s the bathroom wall and not recommended/ designed to take such a thing
The salesperson suggested going down the MIFI/WI-FI route and using a tablet
what does everyone else do ?

I’ve only once used the Ariel socket in our Motorhome and never used the sat dish. We stream everything home and abroad.

WRT to the TV mounting, what a stupid bloke he is. Why wouldn’t you want a decent screen fastened somewhere easy to watch TV? He’s a fool! Can you not reinforce behind the panel you want to use?

We have both, TV on a mount and carry a tablet on board for internet browsing, both fed from the MiFi.

We got rid of the satellite and although we've got an aerial that doesn't get used either. We now use a Firestick if we want to watch TV, which TBH for us is quite rare.
As for the mount I'd check with the vehicle converter as to where they suggest a TV should be mounted - obviously TV not specced when the van was originally ordered. Presume there are no connector panels for TV/audio anywhere else in the van?
Or just use a decent laptop or tablet.

Think different manufacturers have different spec and recommendations on how they have made their vans/wall strength. We have a Rapido V68 on order and it has a wall mount TV bracket as standard. Our previous van had a very reliable satellite dome but the V68 is more compact so I’m having a Status directional aerial plus thinking of a roof mount Wi-Fi set up (not convinced with only streaming at the moment as I seem to hit the 2% (98% coverage 🤔😱) blackspot quite frequently (I am on ee and my wife on Vodafone - ok, just used the phone without booster so far but loads of black spots or too slow areas).

Oh dear, that's a problem, couldn't live with the TV, Streaming is OK if you've unlimited data AND a signal, but I must be old and like to press one button '1' and I'm watching BBC1 . Rather than turning on the Laptop, logging in, select app, select user , select channel select catch up or Live , phew, and then watch it. and do it all again if I want to change channel!!
I've got MiFi/laptop/tablet and Sat TV and there is absolutely no doubt which one I use.

Why 2 thread, different titles, exact same question?

My Wildax has the 12v & aerial socket mounted in the ceiling - and 'they' mounted my tv on the "bathroom" wall above a seat... so horses for courses.

Not the same question really , this question is about MIFI streaming vs an aerial to watch TV the other was about a Globe car toilet wall mounted TV vs a tablet/laptop , sorry if I confused 😊

Our HymerCar has the TV attached to the bathroom wall by a suitable TV mount

I took my Status off the roof because it was casting a shadow on my Solar Panel, I have a Oyster 80cm Dish which is now redundant, my Avtex TV which is 12v has its own Firestick, which I sometimes use...all in all I use my Samsung Tablet which is fine for occasional viewing, my phone is the internet source with a VPN...That works for me...
