How long should you expect to run a TV on leisure batteries only, before it’s starts to drain the batteries too much? I have a small Avtex, 150w of solar and two newish leisure batteries but after about 3 hours I’m getting low battery mode flashing on TV. That’s after a 50 plus mile drive and after solar power has switched off. What’s others experience?

Should run indefinitely, even with just bright cloud you'll get enough power for a TV every night. Sounds like your batteries have had it 🤔

The worst a 12 volt tv should be no more than 4 amps per hour so something is amiss

Avtex TV can be voltage sensitive. As current is drawn the load, even small, will drop voltage.

Your batteries may be newish, but are they getting a full 100% capacity charge? 150W solar at this time of year may only get you back to where you were the day before rather than refil. 50 mile drive with a basic relay system might only have put in 20Ah if that. Even a good B2B system might only have done 40-50Ah in such a short distance.

Also to be considered is quality of wiring, especially to the Avtex power supply socket. Too many motorhomes have thin cables which has too great a resistance. Battery voltage may just be OK but the length of wires reduces that.

Possibly a bad connection where ever the tv plugs in to the 12v feed. My tv kept giving a low power warning when I knew the batteries were fine. It was a bad connection, fixed it and it's been fine since.
