Hi Funsters!

I recently bought a Swift 774. I want to mount a TV on the "bulkhead" in the front lounge area.

We bought this new last year, the seller is quoting at least three months to install this, we'll be out and
about in a few weeks time.
The guy who did the handover said if you want to mount a TV on this bulkhead, the panel is very thin
(shower/w.c. on the other side of the panel) so you need to have a mounting panel bonded to
it to enable a tv bracket to be mounted. I cannot get any sense out of the supplier or Swift
tech, they assured me there is already a panel there, which there isn't.

There is an aerial and 12v socket adjacent to the area, why they haven't made provision to mount
a bracket I cannot imagine.

I am thinking of bonding a panel myself, being a very capable diy/engineering sort, has any of you
done this yourself? Wondering if I should remove the covering on the bulkhead before bonding?

Its a 19.5" Avtek so not much weight involved.

Any ideas appreciated folks!

If that is the proper TV point are you sure that there isn't a panel inside the wall to take some of the load, I would be reluctant to put a panel there unless I could make it look nice, sounds like you are adequately qualified to do it though and quite possiblt better than the dealer would ;)

Our tv bracket is fixed to a thin panel and we haven't had any problems.
I think it depends on the type of bracket.
When the bracket is fully extended there is a cantilever effect.
You will therefore need one with the fixing screws quite far apart to reduce the twisting moment on the fixings.
This is what Adria fitted on our motorhome. (just don't look at the price!)

If you can get behind the shower screen then a wooden pattress could be the way.
Or bolt it through the wall to a steel plate.

Gulp - Jeez that's as dear as the TV!
