Is there an easy way to do this? - a fuse?

I will be temporarily using an inverter to feed the EHU (to deal with a fridge gas issue). Don't really want the inverter (off the leisure battery) trying to recharge the batteries. (the solar does that directly.)

Two ways to do this. There is a fuse for the internal mains charger output, labelled 'Internes Ladegerat'. Or maybe 'Internes Lademodul'. Remove that fuse to cut the output from the charger. The mains connection indicator will still be showing, and the starter battery will still be charged if you have another device like solar charging the leisure battery.

Alternatively, just pull out the mains plug going into the EBL. All it does is power the internal charger. In that case the mains indicator will not show, and the starter battery won't have any connection to the other chargers. The starter battery is not usually a problem unless you are parked up for more than a week or two.

I disconnected the permanent connection from the mains to the charger which in our case uses a kettle type plug and changed it for one with a 3 pin plug on it and wired an extra 3 pin socket in the place of the connection so I can unplug it.
We rarely use the charger any way since I put solar on the roof

But with the EBL 119 the unit performs more than just charging duties - i.e. supplying power to other electrical functions in the van? Unplugging will switch everything off won't it?

No, the 12V functions will continue as normal just like they do when there is no ehu.

No, everything works when you are not on EHU it's unplugged then.

Yes - sorry, silly me -just thought aboout this and realised. The 3 pin plug is the 240 power. The EBL119 is still connected to 12V for general power duties.
