Elddis Ecore 255
Exp
On and off for 30 years
We bought an Elddis 255 new from Perthshire Caravans in July 2021. On its second hab check 2023 there was damp discovered behind the wheel arches on both sides. We notified Perthshire Caravans but because of ongoing issues between dealers and Elddis the motorhome had to go back to Elddis in Consett. We then had to wait from July 23 to 29th April 24 before it was taken into Perthshire Caravand. It was then transported to Elddis factory. They gave 50 days to repair but according to my tracker it hasn’t moved since it was dropped off there. If we don’t get it back before the end of this month it will be due another Had check, an MOT and road tax. If they don’t do this I will be illegal on the road until I get the MOT done and I can’t book it till I know I am getting it back. Both Perthshire Caravans and Elddis are shocking to deal with. Lorraine Girvan at Perthshire must have been an ex doctor receptionist, knows it all but unwilling to show any sympathy to our dilemma and all Elddis say is you contract is with Perthshire Carervans.

What was the reason for the delay in getting your ‘van back to Perthshire Caravans (July 23 to April 24)…….?

So sorry for your problems, it’s not right and I think it is time for legal advice under the sale of goods act as the timescale is not reasonable and I believe that is the term used when getting defects fixed.

If you had a new car under warranty, the dealer would provide a courtesy car - which therefore incentivises them to turnaround the repair.

Why do motorhome dealers not deliver equal service?

Normally dealers of the makers will either transport it on a low loader or trade plates. Should you receive a ticket whilst it is under their custody it will ask you on the ticket who was the driver just name the dealer as it is them who have the care and control of your van weather it is with them or Elddis. We had an
Elddis 255 2012 found the boss of Elddis rude and arrogant and refused to talk to us when we met him at the NEC. We took them to court in the end.

Did you win your case and did Elddis pay out without any more issues?

My solicitor is now dealing with it.

Technically Eldis are right. It's the person who sold you the van not the supplier that your grievance is with.
