I have a Fiat Ducato 150, 2012 and the large 3” hose to the bottom of the radiator on the right keeps blowing off, which puts the engine into a sort of limp mode with very little power. I have screwed the Jubille clip up as far as I can but have not been able to find a store in Spain which has 3” Jubille clips in stock. The existing one is two joined together at the moment. When replacing the hose this morning I noticed that the inside was oily which may be helping it slide off. However I cleaned it all with meths before replacing it for the 5th time. I am not losing any oil at all so is this perhaps deisel? Is an oily substance normal?
So, any suggestions very welcome. I will have another try to find a new clip today. I have Torque OBD Check on my phone so I am able to reset the fault code that blowing off causes.
Thanks in anticipation.

I'm guessing it's the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler. A small amount of oil can escape the turbo, so it can get slightly oily over time. I don't think anything more than a drip is healthy though.

I guess the next question is, why is it blowing off the pipework? Is it just a failed clip? Could there be a big enough oil leak to cause the rubber pipework to swell? Is the turbo building too much pressure? Or is the pipework just getting tired.

Definitely continue to keep an eye on your oil levels, or if you start seeing more smoke in the exhaust.

Would a large cable tie be a temporary solution?

Fence wire and pliers, always carry a bit of wire for emergencies.

It’s very normal for intercooler hoses to blow off during boost from turbo. Harder you drive it the worse it is. Ideally you need to get some brake cleaner or similar and get inside of hose and fitting as clean and dry as possible, before reassembly with a single good quality hose clamp, or a pair (beside each other, not joined) of them if you can get enough hose onto fitting. Oil inside the intercooler is normal. Not ideal but normal

Second that.
Put the wire around loosely twice, join the ends.
Then using a tent peg twist both loops as tight as you need to go.

A metal coat hanger can be used instead of fence wire, but most campsites will have fence wire available.
They usually just leave it stretched between posts around the edge of the site. ;)

You can easily 'make' a 3" clip by joining two smaller clips together.
