Hi All - any help would be much appreciated

I have just purchased a Poynting Puck 2 Antenna and ZTE 971v Router, with just the Router i am getting a reasonable speed of around 11mb/s and 3.4 mb/s, i am having issues when i connect the Motorhome Roof Antenna to the Router as the speed test drops significantly to 0.5 mb/s and 0.3mb/sec.

I am not sure if there is a problem with the Antenna or the Router exterior antenna set up, I have ordered some new TS9 to SMA connectors to rule that out , also could buy a cheap Antenna to see what that does.

Is there anyway of testing the components to see if i have a defective part

Cheers

Wires and adapters are the first thing I would check. The antenna and router would be the last I suspect.

It may be to do with your location?
The Puck 2 only improves certain frequency bands and these tend to be those used in urban areas. It can tend to "reduce reception" on the frequency band/s used in rural areas (well, according to Lenny HB who is well versed in these matters).
Maybe try searching on here for threads on Puck 2 and member Lenny HB.

edit have a look here - https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/4g-booster.278227/#post-5474381

I found that in a lot of locations my Teltonika was faster when not connected to the external antenna.

Thanks all for your help, i have now fitted new TS9 to SMA Adapters (less cables) , this has improved the speed when using the Antenna connected to Router, will monitor as i travel before doing the fitment of Antenna to roof .

Cheers
