I've tried over eight locations that are supposedly Public Weighbridges in Cheshire and North Shropshire to find one willing to weigh my van. Some say their weighbridge is out of action, some say they now only weight commercial vehicles, a couple of farmers say that rain had made the farm unsuitable. Please let me know if you've found a working weighbridge in Cheshire or Shropshire.

I've seen past views on Reich Weight Control in the past. I'd be grateful for any further comments.

Reich Caravan Weight Control will weigh up to 1500 kg per wheel

I had mine weighed at the TG group, near Ellesmere, a few years ago, see below.

Here's a full list of public weighbridges for the area...

My advice would be to just turn up (don't phone ahead), walk into the weighbridge and ask how much to weigh you, tell them you dont need an official printout, should be £5 to £10 which will go in the operators pocket for a pint later on. ;)

Cheers
Red.

Worth noting the MOT test station that MOT'ed my motorhome today also gave me a weight printout for each axle, and combined.

Was attached to MOT printout and was rather useful, I have half a ton spare with full water and costco shopping(booze) still filling one locker entirely ... ooops..

On the Wirral: Normans, Haznotra Farm, Burton, Neston, CH64 8TQ. Its a muddy farmyard/transport yard, but they will weigh you on their public weighbridge if you just pitch up with your van. They will also accommodate you if you want individual axle weights. I used them about four months ago.

Beat me to it, that's how I got my van checked. Any MOT garage with a rolling road should be able to do this.

Dahan ere in the Sauff, any local rubbish tip will have a weigh bridge,
it's how they charge you for dumping rubbish.
Weighed on the way in and weighed on the way out, you pay pound for pound.

couple in Stockport., chelford and tattenhall, non that close to Wirral though. Although you could try these as they must have a weighbridge and a phone call will tell you if it's public.I did a spell on skip hire/waste and most of the scrapyards would let you use their weighbridge.

Nelstrops flour mill (does get busy with tankers)
Offerton sand and gravel.
Shentons garden supplies.

Well, we're back from Tudor Griffiths Group. Friendly staff.

I'm at 3,437kg with front axle @ 1608kg, rear 1829kg. This included 70kg of fuel (never fill the tank) and 20ltr for water.

Thanks for the rest of the suggestions.

TG Group @ Wood Lane, Ellesmere did mine a couple of months ago 01691 626262 ask to speak to the weighbridge personally.

Glad you were successful there.
