I’ve had issues with my truma water heater and a red light on the controller. I replaced mostly everything then ended up just buying a new heater but the same issue keeps happening. Saw someone say the gas regulator so I’ve just replaced that as well and still have the red light. I’m running out of ideas. Has anyone got any advice

My red light often stays on needs a few tries before it goes iut

I’ve given it quite a few tries now but will do it again. Just seems odd it’s the exact same fault even with a new heater.

Check the comms cable connectors ( recall as RJ11) but not how many pins. Had similar issue in past found comms cable connector at truma heater iffy, cut it of and replaced it. All OK.

Edit comms cable runs between heater and heater controls (NOT Inet) but note inet system similar comms set up

Have you checked the gas supply pipe and its isolation tap for possible obstructions and what is the model number of the Truma water heater you have a problem with ?

Constant red like possibly low volts, often due to under size wiring.
Try running a couple of decent size wires in parallel with exsisting cables.

I just today had the exact same red light problem & after scratching my head I gave in & re-read the (F) manual . . .
I'd forgotten to remove the winter cover on the exhaust outlet
- Problem solved it fired up straight away 😊

Glad you said this. That’s the only cable I left in place from the old heater. I’ll try this today

I’ve got under the caravan and checked for kinks and also had the isolation valve off. Seems free flowing

I’ve not heard this before. It does work fine on electric and only gas is the issue. I’m going to change the comms cable today.

Mine comes on when the gas bottle is empty.
